Mogens Koch MK-16 Folding Chair
Beautiful made Folding Chair (model MK-16) designed by Mogens Koch in the early thirties. This example is manufactured by Rud Rasmussen (signed with label) and features a teak wood frame with brass fittings and canvas upholstery and leather straps. The chair is in very good original condition with light user wear. Two chairs available and sold separately.
Mogens Koch designed the MK16 Folding Chair for a supplemental church seating contest in 1932. Reinterpreting the traditional folding stool by combining easy folding and storage option with modern aesthetics. The forward-thinking concept was deemed too radical in its expression at the time of its inception. In the 1960s, however, the chair began to attract design experts and gain popularity, and soon went into serial production.
