Børge Mogensen J39 Dining Chairs

Beautiful aged set of seven J39 'Shaker' Dining Chairs designed by Børge Mogensen in 1947 for FDB Møbler, Denmark. The solid and sturdy high quality oak frames have a warm patina and are refinished with a new layer of oil. The seats of this early set are upholstered with hand-woven rush in stead of the later version with papercord. Despite the age of the chairs, the whole is in very nice condition with minimal traces of use and can still be used for many decades to come.

The chair is very functional and suitable for use in both private and public spaces. Partly because of this, the chair was named 'The People's Chair' and became one of FDB Møbler's best-known chair.
A matching Børge Mogensen C18 Shaker table with the same patina is also available to complete the dining set.
